Jangli Maharaj Temple - 26 Sep 2010

Jangli Maharaj Temple in J M Road Pune:

Well developed city, big road, lot of vehicles, many shops, crowed and too much of noise, this is J M (Jangli Maharaj) Road.
There is an old temple around 170 years, Jangli Maharaj temple. I was wondered, completely different cultural of people are going to that temple.  I just get into that temple, at that movement I felt that I entered into a village.

They maintaining the same atmosphere surrounded the temple. Very calm, peaceful and some kind of energized  feeling.Jangli Maharaj tomb is there in that temple. This place is surround by lot of trees, looks completely green green.

The ultimate thing is a shiv temple made by a single stone and cave also. beside Jangli Maharaj temple. When I look at this rock temple my eyes forgot to blink. How they made this temple with out any technologies...! oh..!really great...!

This is the entrance of the stone temple, from starting to end made by stone that too single stone. Foreigners are visiting  here very often. This below picture is shiv temple, completely cave. The pillars made by stone are added beauty and the ancient technology proof...
The temperature in this temple across the year mostly same. Lot of school and college students are studying here. People are studying under shadow of different trees, scientifically its good for health also.. :-)
My friend's Grand Mother  still remembering that she came and studied over here. Its around 50 to 60 years back... The good part is students are till following the same way (culture)...
I hope this environment helps to easily understand the subjects to students.
A peace place in between fast life pune city.
 Great to visit.... !!!

Narayanpur Balaji Temple - 19 Sep 2010

Narayanpur Balaji and Saswad Shiv Temples...!

A trip to Narayanpur via Saswad...

Balaji temple is around 52 km from pune station... Its a nice place to see, on the way we need to cross a mountain. You can see the beauty of nature, on the way to Narayanpur.

I went with my office colleagues (Friends).

We parked our vehicles and entering in to temple.
The surrounding of Balaji temple is too clean and beauty. Its completely outer from pune but awesome.
We realized that if it is small drizzling then it would be great. But unfortunately it was not there.
We have to keep our shoes and belongings to separate place.

Due to security reasons, they won't allow to take snaps inside the temple. This is the entrance of Balaji temple.
Because of festival, they decorated the temple. Mean time we could see pairs of  horse, Camel and Elephant in front of the temple.
They made a tower with only original flowers (Very beautiful).

Hmmm... I know what you are thinking... !!!

Its around 3 feets away from those elephants ok.  :-)

Hopefully Balaji (statue) will go around the temple on top of these elephants ( but not sure).
Frequently somebody pour water on elephants legs because its very hot...!
See elephants are also decorated :-)
They gave big Laddu (Prasad...)

Here is the interesting thing, they gave a mini lunch for every one... Rice, chatni, sambar and a sweet made by rava (suji)...

Lot of people are eating over there with out any hesitation...
Lot many people are coming by 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers. this is a part of the vehicles.
While return, we went pedal boating... very near by Narayanpur...

Need to eat more to complete one round in that boat.. hmmm.. we did that .. :-)

This is Shiv temple in Saswad, this was constructed during the period of Paandav.

The temple made by stones and a river is flowing beside this temple.
Very silent and peace, if you sat on this temple. Unfortunately nobody maintaining this temple :-(.

Hope no need to explain more about this trip.

Good to go by two wheelers, we can enjoy the nature but need to drive around 50 km one way  :-)

We had Tea in balaji temple, it was very sweet. I think, sugar is bit cheap there..:-)

Nice trip if possible you can visit one time...

Ganesh Chaturthi in pune - 11 Sep 2010

Festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in pune...!!!

I was not really aware of that this festival being celebrated like this much grand in pune.

Ganesh in Lakshmi Road
I had a casual visit with my friends to Lakshmi road on Ganesh Chaturthi. My friends gave me hints about this festival but I didn't expect this much.

Very attractive and grand looking Ganesh sitting all around. This is a sample piece.

I could see small, medium and extra large size Ganesh over there but all are looking quite  impressive.

I was just looking at crowd and thinking that this might be some pune population get together happening :-). See this was a part of crowd at one place (of-course they are my friends).

There are different groups played different kind of instruments with same step of actions and style wow...!!!

They made ultimate settings(palace) for Ganesh to sit. It looks like a real palace, its hard to believe just a setting, I touched and confirmed.

They made some more attractive things side by side like Lions on the two sides of the palace.

God Shiv also took part of this festival. They try to show God Shiv as much realistic (Ganga flowing on top of Shiv's head).

I didn't understand why Mr.Ravan took part in this festival (may be some reason).

The lighting arrangements, musics, decorations, crackers and happiness of people etc.. are touched my heart.

I really enjoyed this festival in pune with my friends. We had sugar cane juice and ice cream in respective special shops... :-).

Do not miss next Ganesh Chaturthi in pune.
